Robber arrested after Facebook suggests the victim adds him

BBC reports that In Birmingham UK Facebook was used to catch and convict Omar Famuyide of robbery and firearm offences. This happened after one of Omar's victims spotted his familiar face on the "People you may know" portion of Facebook. After being pointed out via social media, Omar is now serving 17 years in confinement.
The way the Facebook algorithm works is it uses your work, education information and location to suggest people that you should add. It also uses your Instagram account to assist in providing you with suggestions.
