Uber shows off its first self-driving car
Do you hate it when your Uber driver gets too chatty? Well Uber's Advanced Technologies Center (ATC) may have a solution for you. Uber has officially announced that it's first self driving car will be cruising around Pittsburgh streets. On the downside for antisocial ride sharers, a driver will still need to be present in the vehicle by law. But if the law changes then those patrons can rejoice.
It's prototype, a hybrid Ford Fusion, has already been seen on Pittsburgh streets gathering mapping data last year. But Uber has finally come out of the woodwork's and made the news public. The prototype will continue lapping the city streets collecting information that will assist it in dealing with cyclists, pedestrians and other drivers.
