Sony E-Paper Smart-Watch

According to Bloomberg Sony will be making a watch entirely out of E-paper. This will allow the wearer to change bands virtually, without having to purchase a brand new watch band. Where other smart watches are going for technical strength in their specs, Sony is using style to appeal to customers. This is a lot like the FES watch announced a little over a week ago, but Sony's product will actually be a Smart Watch. A release date or official specs hasn't been announced yet. But more information will likely follow in the near future.

Amazon Fire Price Drops to Under $200

Amazon is dropping the price to its Amazon fire phone from $449 to $199. Some say the $250 drop is due to the fact that Amazon has over $83 million in devices still in its warehouses that are not being sold. That is one theory, another could be the simple fact that this is just an early black Friday sale. This Amazon phone is definitely a steal especially since it has flag ship specs. The quad core 2.2Ghz processors, 2GB of Ram, 13MP camera and access to the Amazon app store is definitely worth the $199 price tag.

This Machine Turns Water Into Gasoline

Sunfire GmbH, a German technology company, has revealed a machine that uses water and carbon dioxide to produce synthetic gasoline. The company has created this revolutionary device in an attempt to move away from fossil fuels. They use a technology called Power-to-Liquid to convert H2O and CO2 into liquid hydrocarbons. The company has achieved efficiency of up to 70% with this process. Head over to Sunfire GmbH's website to get more details on how the technology works

Will this type of cleanly produce gasoline actually make its way into mass production anytime soon? Or will the big companies like BP Oil throw a wrench in Sunfire GmbH's plans, to maintain their dominants in the industry? Many conspirators may argue that electrical cars have not already replaced gas burning cars because of interference by oil companies.

Laser Shooting Smart-Watch

So your smartwatch can notify you of incoming texts, but can it melt through duct tape with its built in laser? Well this one can. Engineer Patrick Priebe has built just that. His DIY project turned futuristic weapon shoots a 1,500 milliwatt laser with the push of a button. This laser is strong enough to pop a balloon or even light a match-stick. The battery drains in about 5-10 minutes when using the laser. This is not Patrick’s first Foyer into the construction of sci-fi tech. He previously built a real life Iron Man missile arm and a laser-shooting glove.

Patrick says that if his watch ever does go into production he will sell it for $300.

This Watch Allows You to Digitally Change Watch Face and Band

Meet the e-ink watch that lets you change the face and band design by pressing a button. The device called the FES Watch uses e-paper on the watches band and face. You have a total of 24 different designs to accessorize with.  This unfortunately doesn't do anything more than tell the time and date, so it can’t officially dawn the title of smartwatch.

This watch is the result of crowd funding, which saw funds raised on the Japanese crowd funding website called Makuake.  Through the website the creators of this product raised $23,000 in September and now have a goal to raise $8,400. They seem to be on track for this goal as they have 98 days left and are already 40% of the way there. Only residence of Japan can assist in the fund-raising. But once a $167 pledge is made the device will be shipped to the kind donor.

If you are on your way out the door and don't have the time to rifle through your living room sofa to find your lost keys you can simply use your Motorola phone to win that one sided game of hide and seek.

Nokia's Big Secret Revealed - It's First Android Tablet

Nokia is showing that it has a lot more technology to offer the world than just Smartphones. The company, who's brand is valued at $3.2 billion, unveiled its first Android tablet today.

The Nokia N1 will have a 7.9" display, a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD. This will cost $250 and is set to launch in China February 19th, 2015. Then will be available in Russia shortly after.

Nokia's tablet will run Android 5.0 with its own launcher, entitled Z launcher. The launcher may not be desirable to many stock Android enthusiast as they believe 3rd party launchers will either taint, or get in the way of the pure Lollipop experience.

Nokia is a quality hardware manufacturer, and it will be interesting seeing how the N1 sales numbers hold up to those of other Android tablet manufacturers.

WhatsApp For Android Answers The Cry to Remove Read Receipts

A few weeks ago WhatsApp gave its users a feature that BBMers have been making use of for years, the ability to know whether or a not a friend (or soon to be ex-friend) has read their messages. BBM does this by changing the D icon to an R. WhatsApp decided to change the color of its delivery checkmarks to blue in order to notify the curious sender of a read message.

The downside of the update meant you were not able to stealthily evade friends. This didn't sit well with a great deal of WhatsApp users, as a result an update was recently released to remedy the issue.

WhatsApp V2.11.444 will allow users to turn off read receipts. This will prevent individual contacts from knowing whether or not you have read their message, but group chats will still be notified once all members have read a message.

The only way this update can currently be installed is by side loading it, as it is not yet available on the Google Playstore. You can find the APK here.

We first heard whispers of this in March and now it has been officially announced that Intel will be releasing an all-in-one PC called Black Brook. It appears to be almost as slim as a tablet coming in at 20mm thin. It even follows the Microsoft Surface by adding a kickstand, but sets itself apart by including a handle.

It has a 20" full HD display and incorporates RealSense 3D cameras, similar to the ones it supplied to the HP Prune for capturing 3D images. No word as the whether the RealSense tech in the Black Brook will be used for 3D photo captures but intel has confirmed that the cameras provide the all-in-one with gesture control abilities. Samsung Releases First Public 3D 360 Degree Camera - Project Beyond

As many tech enthusiasts already know, Samsung has been working with Oculus to produce Virtual Reality Goggles that work in conjunction with the Note 4. They have named it the Samsung Gear VR. The VR itself is essentially a dock for your Note 4 with a gyrometer and accelerometer to track the movement of your head.

Once Samsung's latest flagship Note is connected with the Gear VR it will provide power to the device and allow viewers to see 3D Virtual Reality content with the help of its 5.7" Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The first time the smartphone is attached to the Gear, Oculus software is downloaded, this is what powers the user interface once the eye piece is dawned.

Although the Gear VR is public knowledge to the majority of technology buffs, one thing that most may not know is Samsung is planning on selling a 3rd piece of hardware in order to complete your 3D experience. Today they have unveiled a camera called Project Beyond. It will perform 3D recordings in 360 degrees and can stream the output directly to the Gear VR. The camera is actually made up for 16 Full HD cameras which is how the 360 degree recording is possible. Samsung says that connected users will be able to see the video stream from the Gear VR with no lag.

The Gear VR Innovator Edition is set to release next month and will cost $200. For a bundle that includes the bluetooth gamepad it will cost $249.

Installing Any Android Apps On Blackberry 10 Devices

Check out this brief tutorial on what I think is one of the easiest most user friendly ways to get Android Apps on your blackberry. It doesn't require you to connect your blackberry to a computer and side load.

New iPhone Exploit Discovered All IOS Devices May Be At Risk

A new IOS volnerability dubbed the "Masque Attack" was discovered by researchers at FireEye. It replaces apps with Malware once a user visits a malicious website. If the attacker has the victims universal device identifier requests can be sent to install new applications outside of the App Store. This will allow the hacker to overwrite the real app and or take data from the real app. Apparently Apple was notified about this technique in July but has not yet taken the proper steps to patch the exploit.

Apple said that they can revoke certificates thus disabling enterprise apps and limiting outbreaks. You may want to be cautious using your IOS device but you should be safe as long as you only use the App Store for your apps.

Google's Project Ara Being Demonstrated Live

As many of you may already know Project Ara is a modular smartphone produced by Google. The concept of the phone is to be able to hot swap certain parts of the phone. Things like the camera, RAM and health sensors can be pulled out of the phone while it’s running and replaced with a totally different part.

This essentially makes Androids the “PC’s” of the smartphone world. Just like buying a barebones PC and upgrading certain hardware as you see fit, you can now upgrade parts on your Smartphone as you desire. If you require more RAM you can simply buy a new RAM module and replace your old one.

Check out the demonstration of Project Ara at the Google I/O. Watch modules being taken out and swapped while the phone is still on.

Gold Apple Watch May Cost $5,000

Last month apple unveiled it's new smartwatch alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. The apple keynote did not announce too much information on the release date or the price of certain models and as a result this does very little to denounce pricing and release date rumors.

The fact that the sports centric version of the Apple watch will start from $349 was already public knowledge. However French technology news site iGen has allegedly found out that the stainless steal edition of the watch will cost $500. The French source has also revealed  a rose gold and a yellow gold version of the Apple watch which will cost $4,000 and $5,000 respectively.

The rumored release date for these devices is February 14, 2015.

The Pirate Bay's Last Free Founding Member Has Been Arrested

The last free co-founder of The Pirate Bay, Fredrik Neij, was arrested in Asian yesterday November 3rd. The 36 year old who moved to Laos with his wife and children to escape sentencing was taken into custody after attempting to cross the Laos border into Thailand.

Charges for “promoting other peoples infringements of copyright laws” were filed against all founding members of The Pirate Bay in January of 2008 but Neij has been eluding police for years until now. The other 2 founding members are Gottfrid Svartholm and Peter Sunde.

Although a May 2006 raid temporarily took the torrent search engine offline, changes to their domain name were made to avoid permanently going down. Even till this day, with the founders locked behind bars and all, The Pirate Bay’s website is still up and running.

Learn How Skype Can Translate Any Language to English In Realtime

The envelope pushing software is available as a preview for Windows 8.1 devices. Those eager to get their hands on the finished product will have to keep waiting with baited breath as a release date for the final product has not yet been announced.

The tool can translate 45 languages and will give you a transcript of its work. If you are a windows 8.1 user that would like to give this unfinished product you can register here.
