Microsoft Band Competes With Apple Watch and Android Wear?

On Wednesday October 29th Microsoft announced their entry into the wearable market. The device, named the Microsoft Band, will include a heart rate monitor, UV sensor, Cortana integration and GPS.

What may appeal most people to the wearable is the thrifty $199 price take that it has debuted with and the fact that it will work across multiple platforms. Microsoft has decided to release the device only in the US with limited stock as a way of testing the waters.

The Microsoft band comes with a 310 x 102 resolution capacitive touch screen which displays calendar alerts, email previews and guided workouts.

The band sports dual 100mah lithium-ion batteries which Microsoft has claimed will last 48hours with moderate use.

The device went on sale October 30th and is available for Android, IOS and Windows Phone.
